Edna (Maier) Neitzel

Edna H. Neitzel, age 94 of McGregor died Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Aitkin Health Services in Aitkin.

Edna was born March 30, 1925 at Morango, North Dakota the daughter of Edward and Helena (Roeszler) Maier. She grew up and attended schools in Ellendale, North Dakota. She then moved to Minneapolis and married Arnold Neitzel on February 22, 1952. She worked as a secretary for an airline. They lived in Minneapolis until moving to the McGregor area in the mid 1970’s. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in McGregor, and the McGregor Lions/Lioness Club for many years having served as its president. She enjoyed volunteering.

She is survived by her son William Neitzel of McGregor and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Laurice Jozen, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

A memorials service will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11 AM from Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Cheryl Fleckenstein officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date in North Dakota. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
