Ellen Marie (Jacobs) Bovee

Ellen Marie Bovee, 66 of Aitkin died Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Saint Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud.

She was born May 16, 1952 in Aitkin to Melvin and Edna (Copley) Jacobs.  She grew up in the Aitkin area and attended the Lone Lake Country School and then Aitkin Public Schools graduating from Aitkin High School in 1970.  After graduating high school she attended North Central Bible College in Minneapolis.

Ellen was united in marriage to Duane Lee Bovee on April 1, 1972 at the Assembly of God Church in Aitkin.  She was an active member of the Assembly of God in every community that she lived.

She owned and operated Queen Fashions clothing store in Woodbury.  She also was a business owner as a florist, cake decorator, and catering.  She was an accomplished seamstress donating her time hemming, sewing, and tailoring.  She did this out of love for those that could not afford or that needed the help.  She loved being a mother and grandmother not just to her own family but to their friends as well. Ellen served and loved the Lord all of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parent Melvin and Edna (Copley) Jacobs, her infant daughter, and her son Stephen.

Ellen is survived by her husband Duane Bovee of Aitkin;

Daughter and son-in-law: Annette (Robb) Reiser of Hurley, MS;

Son and daughter-in-law: Daniel (Angilee) Bovee of Durand, WI;

Daughter-in-law: Melissa Hicks (Joe) of Hastings;

Son: Andrew Bovee of River Falls, WI;

Grandchildren: Jacob, Joel, JulieAnn, Zachary, Savannah, Michael, Laryssa, Mikayla,

Cody, Callie, Rylee, and Sydnee;

Sisters and brothers-in-law: Lois(Joe) and Ruthie (Emery);

Many other special relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00P.M. – Monday, April 8, 2019 at Glory Baptist Church, Aitkin.  Reverend Gary Espeseth will officiate.  Burial will be in Diamond Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4 to 6P.M. Sunday at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin and will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Aitkin.  www.srtfuneral.com
