Florence Caroline (Hill) Peterson

Florence Caroline Peterson, 96, formerly of Kimberly, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 in Aitkin Health Services, Aitkin.  She was born July 20, 1923 in Lakeside Township to Henry and Dagmar (Johnson) Hill.  Florence graduated from McGrath High School.  She moved to Minneapolis, and worked there for several years before being united in marriage to Elmer Peterson from Kimberly Township.  Florence and Elmer farmed in Kimberly for many, many years and raised a large family together.  She moved to Rochester in 1987 and later to the Twin Cities.  In 2016, Florence moved into Aitkin Health Services.  Florence enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers, canning vegetables and cooking for her family, quilting, reading, traveling to visit family, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. 

Florence is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; her parents; 2 daughters, Nancy Berg and Irene Peterson and 7 siblings.

Florence is survived by 3 daughters, Beverly (Steven) Antonich of New Hope, Sandra (Gary) Emerson of Dallas, Texas and Rita (Richard Levine) Peterson of Cambridge; 4 sons, Allen Peterson of Aitkin, Peter Peterson of Brooklyn Park, Kenneth (Eva) Peterson of Gilbert and Leslie Peterson of Aitkin; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be Saturday, July 27, at 11 A.M. in Bethesda Lutheran Church, Rossburg.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, Kimberly Township.  Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.  To sign the guestbook online, go to:  www.srtfuneral.com.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home, Aitkin.
