Joyce Alice Eeg, 90 of Aitkin died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Riverwood Health care Center in Aitkin. She was born October 13, 1928 in Mora to Eric and Bertha (Pottratz) Loken. She grew up and attended school in Mora. Joyce was united in marriage to Einar Eeg on September 7, 1947 in Minneapolis.

She enjoyed golfing, flower gardening, and reading, and was a member of Golden Valley Country Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Einar Eeg in 1994, brother: Donald Loken, sister: Lorraine Loken, and her parents: Eric and Bertha (Pottratz) Loken.

Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Arvey and Marlene Eeg of Vonore, TN;

Daughter and son-in-law: Christine Jo and Jeffrey Struwve of Aitkin;

Brother: Clark Loken of Mora;

Grandchildren: Jessica Partain-Merriman, Phillip Merriman, Jr., and Garth Merriman;

Great-grandchildren: Brody Merriman and Calvin Partain;

And many other relatives and friends.

A gathering of friends and family will be 4:00 to 6:00P.M. - Wednesday, March 6, 2019 with a service of sharing memories starting at 5:00P.M. at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Aitkin. Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. www.srtfuneral.com
