Karen Ruth Dunker, age 73 of Aitkin died Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Aitkin Health Services in Aitkin, Minnesota.
Karen was born November 29, 1945 in Jackson, Minnesota the daughter of Forrest and Ruth (Carter) Anderson. She grew up and attended schools in Jackson graduating from the Jackson High School in 1963. She married Ivan J. Dunker on August 12, 1966 in Jackson. They lived in Jackson of a time and then lived in the Twin Cities and the moved to Princeton and moved to Aitkin upon retiring. She had drove school bus, did foster care and had worked in a school She enjoyed helping children. She had been a member of First Lutheran Church in Aitkin. She is survived by children: Paul Dunker and wife Zena of Clearbrook, Mn.; Marc Dunker and wife Tammy of Foley, Mn., Monica Roberts and husband Jeremie of Zimmerman, Mn., Jill Dunker of Alexandria, Mn.; 4 Grandchildren: Ethan, Nikole, Heaven, Wesley; 2 Great Grandchildren: Madelyn and Finn; Sister: Wanda Klima of Fairmont, Mn., and Brother David Anderson of Jackson, Mn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Ivan and 1 brother Dennis Anderson.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 from 10 AM until 11:30 AM at the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Aitkin. Burial will be in the Oak Knoll Cemetery at Princeton, Mn. at 1:30 PM on Friday, May 3, 2019.
