Kevin John Anderson

Kevin John Anderson, 49, of McGregor passed away unexpectedly, Monday, December 23, 2019 near his home.  He was born February 24, 1970 in St. Paul to Bill and Joan (Hable) Anderson.  Kevin, along with his parents and older brother, Keith, grew up in the St. Paul como park area and he graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1988.  Following graduation, Kevin attended St. Paul Technical College while also driving school bus and working at Rainbow Foods.  Kevin enjoyed spending weekends in McGregor at his friends cabin on Big Sandy Lake, which led him to meeting his future wife, Holly Pickles, while in the area.  They settled in McGregor to start their family and were united in marriage on October 15, 1994.

Kevin loved spending time with his family. He especially loved going on Harley rides with his wife, Holly, going on family vacations and visiting local breweries. He enjoyed playing cards, watching movies and snuggling with his daughter, Grace, age 11, planning food plots and hunting with his boys, Auston, age 22, and Brandon, age 26. They spent many weekends mowing and hunting at the family “farm” in Kerrick, MN along with Kevin’s dad and brother. Kevin lovingly cared for his cat, Zipper, who recently passed away at 19 years old. He was also known for the amount of time he spent cleaning his cars, trucks and motorcycles, always keeping them sparkling clean. Over the years Kevin worked at Fireside Inn of McGregor, Aitkin County, Willey’s Marine and was currently employed by MN D.O.T. in Duluth. 

Kevin was actively engaged in his community as a member of the McGregor Fire Department, McGregor Ambulance and McGregor First Responders. He enjoyed the camaraderie and many friendships that he made along the way. 

Kevin will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Kevin is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ethyl and Roy Anderson and John and Gertrude Hable.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Holly Anderson of McGregor and their 3 children, Brandon Anderson of Baudette, Auston Anderson of Fort Hood, Texas and Grace Anderson of McGregor; parents, Joan and Roy “Bill” Anderson of Roseville; brother, Keith Anderson of Ham Lake; niece, Julia Anderson; nephew, Dylan Anderson; along with many other relatives and friends.
