Lois Ann (Kormann) Meacham

Lois Ann Meacham, age 81 of Arden Hills, Mn. formerly of McGregor and Aitkin died Monday, September 16, 2019 at the Johanna Shores Gables Care Center in Arden Hills, MN.

Lois was born April 2, 1938 in Granite Rock Township of Redwood County, Minnesota the daughter of Vernon and Esther (Dresow) Kormann. She grew up and attended schools in Granite Falls graduating from the Granite Falls High School in 1956. She then attended the Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1959 with her RN degree. She worked at the Northwestern Hospital from 1959 to 1963. She married Carol John (C.J.) Meacham on January 29, 1961 at Granite Falls, Minnesota. They made their home in South Minneapolis. She worked at Mt. Olivet Careview Nursing Home in Minneapolis from 1978 to 1988. They retired to McGregor, Mn. in1989. She worked as a volunteer for the Aitkin County Hospice Program from 1989 to 1994. She moved to Blackrock Terrace in Aitkin in 2017, and has resided at the Johanna Shores Gables Care Center since March of 2019. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and crocheting. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in McGregor, McGregor Lions club, Lake Country Quilters and the “Dinner Belles”.

She is survived by her son David (Debra) Meacham of Anoka, Mn.; Daughter: Susan (Tom) Viker of Shoreview, Mn.; Grandson: John Viker; Brother: Terry (Karen) Kormann of St. Paul, Mn.; Sister: Linda (LeRoy) Pauley of St. Cloud, Mn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband C.J. in 2015 and grandson Frederick Viker in 2018.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11 AM from Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Doug Larson officiating. A visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Pine Needle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are preferred to the ALS Association or the Cancer Society.
