Paul Joseph Rimarcik, age 78 of Aitkin died Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.
Paul was born August 15, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Joseph and Mary Rimarcik. He grew up and attended schools in Minneapolis graduating from Central High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served 22 years in the navy. Upon his discharge he returned to Minneapolis and worked as a mold injection operator for a manufacturing company. He moved to the Aitkin area in 1982 and worked for Stearns Rubber. He married Helen Hermanson on April 4, 1984 in Minneapolis. They made their home in Aitkin. He was a member of the VFW and Knights of Columbus. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed bowling.
He is survived by his wife Helen Rimarcik of Aitkin; sons, Greg Rimarcik and Ken Rimarcik both of the Minneapolis area. He is also survived by step son, Douglas Hermanson and step daughter, Anita Williams both of Minneapolis; granddaughter, Brianna (Brandon) Rongitsch; great granddaughter, Marlee Rongitsch; four sisters, Sue Brennan, Kathy Theis, Marty Crawford and Ann Aeschliman all of Minneapolis and the special staff at Rivers Edge Assisted Living and his many friends.He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Noon from the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the noon service. Military honors will be provided by the Aitkin VFW and American Legion Posts. Interment will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
