Robert "Bob" E. Meger

Robert "Bob" E. Meger age 70 of Palisade died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin.

Robert was born November 5, 1948 in Minneapolis, Minnesota the son of Joseph and Shirley Meger. He grew up and attended schools in Minneapolis graduating from the Patrick Henry High School in 1966. He then joined the U.S. Army. He married Marjorie Jean Anderson on November 4, 1967 at the Calvary Church in Minneapolis. Upon his discharge from the Army, Robert returned to Minneapolis and worked for the City of Minneapolis in the Street Department as a small engine repair mechanic. He retired in 2000. They had purchased property in the Palisade area in 1983 and after Robert retired, he spent a great deal of his time there. After his wife retired, they moved permanently to Palisade. He was a member of the Palisade Mountain Men, Keywinders Club, Minnesota Choppers and the Minnesota Street Rod Association. He enjoyed his cars and had a 1939 ford pickup, 1927 Ford roadster and a 1940 International pickup. He had also enjoyed hunting in his younger years.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie Meger of Palisade; Daughters: Shanda Meger and Scott Weimer of Palisade; Jessica and Shaun Olson of Zimmerman, Mn.; Grandchildren: Jordan LaVine, Kaitlyn LaVine and Brianna Weimer; and brother James Meger of Medina, Mn. He was preceded in death by daughter Shari in 1974 and his parents.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 1 PM from Bethel Lutheran Church in Palisade with Rev. William Sass officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the 1 PM service at the church. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in the spring.
