Alice J. Elkin

Alice J. Elkin, 83 of Aitkin passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026 at her residence.  She was born August 10, 1943 in Minneapolis the daughter of Howard and Mildred (Scott) Johnson.  She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Edison High School.  Alice was united in marriage to William “Bill” M. Elkin on August 17, 1963 in Mound.  They raised their family in Champlin and loved going up north to the cabin on Farm Island Lake.  She worked for many years in customer service and management for Sears Co.  Following retirement, they moved to their home on Farm Island Lake and wintered in Hawaii and later in Surprise, AZ.  Alice enjoyed playing golf, Bingo, bowling, board games and gambling at the casino. She loved socializing with her many special friends and having a glass of wine or a margarita.  She was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Elkin on August 7, 2021, parents: Howard and Mildred Johnson and her siblings.  Alice is survived by her children and their spouses: Robert Joseph Elkin (Joy) of Rockford, AL. Elizabeth Marie Blesi (Paul) of Andover, Dennis Michael Elkin (Lynn) of Oak Grove, Kenneth Richard Elkin (Jill) of Noblesville, IN. Diana Lynn Johnson (Mike) of Isanti; Grandchildren: Jennifer Eppel (Sam), Nicholas Blesi (Chloe), Nolan Elkin, Austin Elkin, Hannah Johnson, Jacob Elkin, Brayden Elkin; Great-grandchildren: Henry Eppel, Harrison Eppel; and many other special relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 11:00am – Friday, August 28, 2026 at Saint James Catholic Church in Aitkin.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Bennettville Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Aitkin.  To leave a message of condolence go to www.srtfuneral.com
