Arturo Orosco

Arturo Orosco, age 79 of McGregor died Monday, November 25, 2019 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet, Minnesota.

Arturo was born October 13, 1940 at Yoakum, Texas the son of George and Guadalupe (Del Bosque) Orosco. He grew up and attended schools in the San Antonio area. He then served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years. He married Lynne Joslyn on May 21, 1969 in Stockton, Calf. Arturo retired from the Air Force in 1977 and went to work for the General Electric Company and was involved with the Space Shuttle program. He then worked for the State of California Department of Labor as a Veterans Representative. They retired to Lake Minnewawa near McGregor in 2002 and they have lived here since. He was a member of the McGregor American Legion and was a past commander, he organized the veteran’s dinner for returning veterans, he had served on several board at Riverwood Health Care Center and was the McGregor Angels number 1 patient.

He is survived by his wife Lynne; Children: Veronica, Gary, Bruce, Ernest, Sandy, Jennie and Carrie; 17 grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; 2 brothers: David and Gilbert and 5 sisters: Irene, Yolanda, Cecelia, Leona and Rosalinda. He was preceded in death by his parents1 sister and 1 brother.

A memorial service will be held Friday, December 6, 2019 at 2 PM from Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Cheryl Fleckenstien officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at a later date at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Military honors will be provided by the McGregor VFW and American Legion Posts. Arrangements are with the McGregor Funeral Home, McGregor, Minnesota.
