Betty May Foster Gage, 88 of Aitkin passed away on March 12, 2020, at the Aitkin Health Services in Aitkin.  Betty was born May 10, 1931 and was the last remaining child of Edgar and Maude (Michaels) Meader.  Born on the family farm outside Manchester, Iowa with 7 brothers and 1 sister.  Betty attended Copperhead Country School by Bailey Ford. She attended Manchester High School, graduated from Francis Shimer Junior College and AIB College in Des Moines, Iowa.

Betty Married Clellan Fuller on November 13, 1954. They resided in Mechanicsville, Iowa where they raised 6 children and she was the City Clerk. They moved to Wealthwood Township near Aitkin in October of 1972, where they lived and managed Kamp Different for a time. Betty also worked briefly at Kamp Kichi Kanis and the Aitkin Turkey plant before going to work at Aitkin County Family Services in 1975, retiring in 1993. Her husband Clellan passed away in 1979.

Betty married John E Foster in Aitkin on February 2, 1980.  Betty and John enjoyed their life in the country, dancing and spending time with friends at the Aitkin American Legion and teaching a few children how to polka when they came to visit.  John passed away in September of 2000, at which time she moved into town to Mary Hill Manor in Aitkin.  Betty and her daughter Carol enjoyed their many adventures and shopping trips with her fur babies, black poodle Susie and Copper poodle Penny Sue. She looked forward to the occasional weekend car ride to the country to spend time with her son Ed and his family. She so enjoyed the country and being outside.

Betty met Don Gage at Mary Hill Manor and they married on April 4, 2003, He passed April 4th 2007.  Betty moved to the Aitkin Health Services in 2014 where she resided at the time of her passing. Betty enjoyed her life, her family, especially her grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and many friends. She passed her days reading and enjoying the staff at Aitkin Health Services, many of whom she became very close to, as they did her. It was evident when family visited by all the well wishes from residents, friends and staff.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Hegarty-Doyle, Des Moines, IA, Mark Fuller and wife Mindy, Mechanicsville, IA, Carol McWilliams and husband Mike, Conway, AR, Jane Howe, Hibbing, MN, Ed Fuller and wife Kim, Aitkin, MN, 16 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her son Joe who passed away March 29, 2014, her husbands, son-in-law Glen Howe, Great Grandson, August McWilliams, and her fur babies, Susie and Penny Sue.
