Betty Jeane (Marston) Sherry – Lueck, 98, formerly of Round Lake-Tamarack passed away August 20, 2024. She was born February 25, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Wesley and Helen Elizabeth (Githens) Marston. Betty was united in marriage to Richard James Sherry January 23, 1945 in New York, New York.. They lived in Iowa for a time and then moved to Cloquet in 1958. Betty worked as a secretary for Cloquet Public Schools. In 1982 they moved to their home on Round Lake near Tamarack. Betty was a former member of the Eastern Star. She was a concert pianist and used her talent at many churches she attended including Round Lake Presbyterian Church where she and Richard were very active members. Richard passed away in 2007. On February 9, 2013 Betty was united in marriage to Fritz Lueck. Fritz passed away in 2020. She was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing, knitting, polka dancing, gardening, traveling and her Bridge Club. Betty loved her dogs very much and loved to be with her family and socializing with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Mabel Githens, who is buried in the Round Lake Cemetery, her parents: Wesley and Helen Marston, Husbands: Richard Sherry and Fritz Lueck.
Betty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Daniel (Ellen) Sherry; daughter Nancie Sherry -Skare; 5 grandchildren: Emily, Melinda, Wesley, Ian and Ethan; 7 great grandchildren; cousin Sandy Harley; step-children: (Fritz Lueck’s Children) Dale, Larry, Cindy and Deb and their spouses, children and grandchildren; And many other special relatives and friends whom Betty loved very much.
Funeral service will be 1pm – Sunday, September 8, 2024 at Round Lake Presbyterian Church (16652 Goshwak St. – McGregor, MN. 55760). Pastor Larry Burg will be the officiant. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Round Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are with McGregor Funeral Home & Cremation Services in McGregor.
