Beverly Jean Bose, 79, of Aitkin, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at her home. She was born April 3, 1946 in Slayton to Eugene and Vera (Kathman) Kirk. Bev graduated from Lake Wilson High School in 1964. Bev was united in marriage to Rodney Bose on December 11, 1965. She and Rod moved to Idaho during his time in the Air Force before returning to Lake Wilson. They moved to Aitkin in 1972 where she was a stay at home mother. Bev then began working at Aicota Health Care Center as a trained Nurses Aide where she worked for 12 years. Bev then became the 1st Jailer/Dispatcher at the Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office where she worked until retiring in 2008. At both places, she gained many life-long friends. Following Bev’s retirement, she volunteered in Kindergarten classes for several years.
Bev enjoyed gardening, shopping, camping, supporting her granddaughters and spending time with friends and family.
Bev is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Kirk and Vera Schweiso; step-father, Vern Schweiso; infant son, Rodney Bose; brothers, Chuck and Richard Kirk.
Bev is survived by her loving husband, Rodney; daughters, Melissa (Matt) Slyter of Maple Grove and Christala (Dennis) Culhane of Otsego; 2 granddaughters, Sophie Culhane and Maddie Slyter; bonus grandchildren, Ian, Tessa, Nora, Ivy, Emily and Chloe; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 20th from 4-6 P.M. in Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home, Aitkin and will continue Friday, November 21st from 10 AM until the 11 AM Memorial Service in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Iron Hub with Pastor Donald Klatt officiating. Private Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, Fleming Township.
