Beverly Jean Spreigl 91, of Aitkin passed away May 18, 2024 at Aicota Health Carte Center in Aitkin. She was born December 5, 1932 in St. Paul to William Edward and Jean Dorothy (McCauley) McClellan. She grew up in St. Paul and moved to Maplewood where her grandparents and extended family lived on the shores of Kohlman Lake. Bev met Jack through a friend and they were united in marriage on September 19, 1953 in White Bear Lake. Bev and Jack eventually settled in Maplewood where the kids finished growing up, married and enjoyed life. Mom and Dad purchased a piece of land on Diamond Lake in Aitkin and eventually retired and made their home permanently at the lake. With siblings close by, they spent many good years and what a time we all had. Fishing with children and eventually grandchildren and card games; good friends and good times. Then the love of mom’s life, Jack was diagnosed with cancer and it was a short fight at the end of 1996 with the passing of Dad on February 14, 1997. Mom remained living at the lake for many years and as it goes over time, life changed. Her brother Tom and wife Judy moved away, sister-in-law Pat, passed and a few years later her brother Bill passed. Mom had moved into town and lived in a small apartment and continued to play cards and celebrated life with friends and family. Dementia started to change her life, eventually she moved into Aicota Assisted Living and eventually she transitioned to Aicota Health Care Center where she stayed until her passing on May 18 at the age of 91.
She was preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) E. Spreigl and her brothers Jerry McClellan, William (Bill) McClellan and her parents William and Jean McClellan.
She is survived by children: Betty Jean Spreigl, Rose Marie (Spreigl) Greninger - husband Mark Greninger, William Spreigl - wife Shawn Marie Spreigl.
Grandchildren: Becky, Jaci, Amy, William, Crystal, Alexandra, Kenneth.
