Bonnie Lee Ferdelman, 86 of Aitkin passed away Monday, October 28, 2024 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby surrounded by the love of her family. She was born October 8, 1938 in Duluth the daughter of Kermit and Helen (Priem) Bovee. She graduated from Edison High School in North East Minneapolis in 1956. Bonnie Lee (Bovee) was united in marriage to Robert Lawrence Ferdelman April 27, 1957 in New Brighton. She worked for the University of Minnesota and Honeywell prior to moving to Aitkin in May of 1977. In the early 1980’s, Bonnie successfully ran her own clothing store, the Jean Chalet but chose to sell it a few years later to dedicate her full attention to managing Bob’s masonry business.
Family was everything to Bonnie, and her grandkids brought her immense joy. She loved traveling, taking many trips to Cancun with her loved ones, and eventually became a snowbird in Yuma, AZ. In 1987, Bob and Bonnie bought a place at Lake of the Woods. Over the years, they've hosted countless fishing trips there, creating cherished memories with family and friends. Bonnie had a variety of hobbies, including sewing, crocheting, and creating porcelain dolls and fleece blankets. Though she would never admit it, she was an exceptional cook and baker. Bonnie’s love for going to the Moose on Wednesday and Saturday night for the meat raffle was the highlight of her week, and she always made sure that anyone celebrating a birthday got a cake—because what’s a party without cake! Her kindness and warm, welcoming smile drew in countless people, and she was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her son: Scott Alan (Wanda) Ferdelman, two brothers Dee and Mike Bovee and her parents Kermit and Helen Bovee.
Bonnie is survived by her husband Robert Ferdelman of Aitkin; Children: Mark (Laura) Ferdelman, Jay (Candy) Ferdelman, Tracy Feyereisen, Bobbie (Russ) Ward; Grandchildren: Jessie, Joey, Loryn, Evan, Carmen and Whitney Ferdelman, Abby and Josh Feyereisen, Wyatt, Dylan and Ryder Gustin; and many other special relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
