Bruce Nelson, formerly of Superior, Wi, took his last breath at his home 6/28/26 at age 77 in Aitkin, Mn with his family at his side.  He was the only child of Donald and Luella Nelson.  He graduated from Superior High School in 1967.  He was drafted into the Army in 1969 and spent 2 years stationed in Germany.  He was honorably discharged in 1975.  Bruce was a musician, song writer, and singer for many years.  He played with Triad, Fat City, Storm 'N Port and the Jam Riders. With the Jam Riders, he hosted open stages at R. T. Quinlan in Duluth and at the Blues Saloon in Superior.  He was also a welder, and worked in maintenance. He had no children of his own but welcomed his wife Val's 4 children with open arms.  Bruce loved the outdoors. Many days of his life were spent fishing in a canoe. Family vacations camping or renting a cabin and floating and fishing on a pontoon provided many wonderful memories for us all.  He inspired the kids musically providing life-long appreciation of many genres of music.  Old rock and blues were mainstays.  He gave fatherly advice that they all remember.  "Don't get any on ya", "Drive straight, turn when you have to" and from the old SNL skit "Stay away from there, kids."  He loved motorcycles. It was a sad day when he could no longer ride and had to sell the bike.  The Minnesota Twins either delighted or disappointed him.   "Baaazeballllll!"  
He was so very devoted to his wife Val and their kids.
 Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Luella Nelson, and father-in-law Rich Liljenquist.
He is survived by wife Valerie (Liljenquist), children Jeremy Goble and his wife Jessi of Aitkin, Jessy Goble and her partner Chad of Grand Marais, Mn, Mahnomen Galvin of Duluth, Mn and Maya Galvin of Aitkin. Grandson Payton Taylor.   Also survived by mother-in-law Lorraine Liljenquist of Aitkin, Mn, brother- and sister-in-law Rick and Kim Liljenquist, sister- and brother-in-law Kay and Roland Hill.

We will be having a gathering at his home to remember him, laugh and cry on August 15 from 1-4 PM.  220 5th Ave, NW. Aitkin, Mn.
