Carla Lou (Manske) Emons

Carla Lou Emons, 78, of Aitkin, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2025 at her home.  She was born November 9, 1947 in Minneapolis to Carl and Virginia (Porter) Manske.  Carla was united in marriage to Donald Emons on May 20, 1967 in Minneapolis.  Carla worked at Northwestern Bell for 17 years.  She and Donald moved to Aitkin in 2000 and farmed for more than 20 years.  Carla was a member of Knitwits and enjoyed crafting, gardening, knitting, making homemade soap (Carla owned and operated her own soap company), baking bread and especially spending time with her family.

Carla is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Wendell and Doug Manske.

Carla is survived by her husband, Don; children, Kim (Chuck) Wessels, Jesse, Christina and Ben Emons; grandchildren, Brooke Teeter, Emma Baker, Ezra, Elsa and Ella Emons; great grandchildren, Leo and Asher Teeter; other relatives and friends.

Services will be Saturday, December 20, 2025 at 11 AM in St. James Catholic Church, Aitkin with Father Michael Patullo officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.  To leave a message of condolence, please visit:  www.srtfuneral.com.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Aitkin.
