Carol Elaine (Gustin) Ahonen

Carol Elaine (Gustin) Ahonen passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 78.  Carol was born to Thomas and Marion (Swanson) Gustin of Aitkin on October 5, 1946.  On Christmas Eve 1964, Carol married her lifelong husband, Mike, in Thor. 

Mike and Carol have two children, Audra Smith (Mike) of Palmyra, TN and Keith Ahonen (Jen) of Crosby.  Carol adored her grandsons, Kobe (Allison) Ahonen, Colton (Sara) Smith, and granddaughters Asher Smith and Karlee Ahonen.   She loved hearing from them often.   She always had a million questions to ask them to make sure she was always caught up on their lives. 

As the news broke of her passing, we have received so many comments about the wonderful lady she was and the memories of how great of a cook and welcoming person she was; we couldn’t agree more.  We are going to miss those amazing meals, and all the fun craft projects she would dream up and have us work on.  We already miss her presence, her strength, unwavering love, and the biscuits and gravy.
