Caron Grussendorf Obituary

Caron Marie Grussendorf, from Maple Grove, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 after a hard fought battle with dementia. She passed on to heaven surrounded by her family, lovingly supported at her bedside by her devoted husband of nearly 40 years, Jeff Grussendorf. The devotion Jeff had for Caron was truly beautiful to witness.

Caron Grussendorf was born on November 7, 1962 to her parents Juanita Ann Roddy and Jim Lambert in Fort Worth, Texas. Growing up in Plymouth, Minnesota, she went on to meet and marry Jeff Grussendorf at their workplace, Mission Farms, and have two children Joshua and Jessica.

Caron loved spending weekends up north with her family at Sherwood Forest, a place which they have enjoyed together for over 30 years. Summers were filled with golf cart rides, crafting, gardening, walks, fishing, and soaking up the sun. Caron and Jeff enjoyed their vacations together to Florida, Mexico, and Jamaica and the beach was truly a slice of heaven for her with her toes warm in the sand. You could often find Caron and Jeff attending live music events together. Kurt Jorgensen was one of her favorites. Caron adored butterflies. Every summer they would grow and release many monarchs, now she flies with the butterflies.

Caron’s children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She never hesitated to want to make memories with them, camping together was one of her favorites. She delighted in cheering on her children and grandchildren at sporting events over the years and was always so very proud of them and their accomplishments. Nana will always be remembered by her family for how “fabulous” she was!

Caron will forever be missed by her husband Jeff Grussendorf, son Josh (Laurie), daughter Jessica (Ronnie), grandchildren; Keira, Mckenzie, Lucas, Evelyn, Levi, and Armani. She is survived by her siblings Cathy Estrada, Clay (Mia) Lambert, Jill Lindl (Dave) and many extended family members. Caron was preceded in death by her mother Juanita Roddy, Tom Roddy, father Jim Lambert, mother-in-law Nancy Nelson, Bruce Nelson, father-in-law Gary Grussendorf, sister-in-law Jodi Grussendorf, and friend Mary McCormick.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 7th, 2025 at Sherwood Forest, details to come. Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Golden Horizons of Aitkin and St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care and support as Caron walked the journey to gain her angel wings. Thank you, Kurt Jorgensen, for a beautiful send off for Caron in the last days we had with her.
