Carrie Hagman Obituary

Carrie Joanne Hagman, 93, of Aitkin, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024 in Aicota Assisted Living, Aitkin.  She was born December 11, 1930 in Aitkin to Anthony and Glendora (Ferguson) Klee.  She attended school in Aitkin and graduated with the class of 1948.  She attended college at St Cloud State, graduating in 1950.  Joanne was united in marriage to John Richard Hagman on December 30, 1950 at 1st Congregational Church, Aitkin.  They built their first home south of Aitkin and she was employed at the Aitkin Independent Age until 1968 when they moved to Wayzata.  Joanne was an employee with Honeywell until retiring to their lake home on Bay Lake in 1986.  In 1999 they moved back to Aitkin.  Joanne also worked part time at Security State Bank for a few years.  She and John spent many years wintering in Mesa, Arizona.  Joanne enjoyed golfing, playing bridge and knitting.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Aitkin, 60+ year member and past matron of Woodland Chapter O.E.S., 50+ year member of the America Legion Post#86 Auxiliary, life member of Aitkin V.F.W. Post #1727 Auxiliary and Riverwood Hospital Auxiliary.

Joanne is preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; brother, John Klee; sister-in-law, Mary Hagman; niece, Diane Lund; nephew, Ron Petrowski; best pals, Chips, Duke, Daisy, Coco, Heather and Kasey.

Joanne is survived by sister-in-law, Norma Lehmann; nieces and nephews, Patty and Jeff Swedberg, Roger and Josie Weber, Barb and Gary Tveberg, Tony and Jenn Klee, Bill Hagman, Alice and Bill Spangler, Kathy and Jim Lundin, Steve and Chris Hagman and Debbie Petrowski; several great nieces, nephews other relatives, friends and her dog, Jill.

Services will be Tuesday, November 12th at 11 AM in First Lutheran Church, Aitkin with Pastor Reggie Denton officiating.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at a later date in Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery, Little Falls.  To leave a message of condolence, please visit:  www.srtfuneral.com.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Aitkin.
