Darrell Ervin Berg, 81, of Tamarack, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 23, 2020 at his home. He was born February 6, 1939 in Malmo to Martin and Anna (Scherle) Berg. Darrell attended school in Tamarack and McGregor. He was united in marriage to Daisy Marie McCollum on June 21, 1958 in Tamarack. Darrell was a farmer and Steel worker. He also owned and operated the Horseshoe Lake Inn, McGregor with his wife, Daisy until his retirement. Darrell was a founding member of Tamarack Sno-Flyers and former member of Lions Club. He enjoyed working on the farm, baseball, playing pool, hunting and especially spending time with his family. Darrell will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ole and Martin Berg; sister, Marlene Latvala.
Darrell is survived by his loving wife, Daisy Marie Berg of Tamarack; 3 daughters, Cindy Berg of Minneapolis, Tammy Hegge of Golden Valley and Penny Maudal of Tamarack; grandchildren, Dean Maudal, Angela Link, Joseph Berg, Douglas Maudal, Daisy Maudal, Daniel Hegge, Dana Maudal and Brandon Hunter; great grandchildren, Brooke, McKenna and Ella Hegge, Hannah, Odin, Emma and Abby Maudal, Keely Empey, Ryan Olson, Joseph “JD” and Maxwell Chouinard and McKenzie Martin; 2 brothers, Helmer “Fred” (Ginny) Berg of Lino Lakes and Lenord (Kathy) Berg of Maple Plains; sister, Helen (Gene) Berg of McGregor; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
