Darryl Francis Lamke, Sr.

Darryl Francis Lamke, Sr., 85, of Palisade, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Riverwood Healthcare Center, Aitkin.  He was born March 29, 1938 in Aitkin to Philip and Vienna (Warren) Lamke.  Darryl graduated from Aitkin High School in 1956.  Darryl is a veteran of The United States Army who served from 1962 to 1964.  Darryl was united in marriage to Virginia Johnson on November 2, 1957 in Palisade.  Darryl worked as an Operating Engineer and a member of Local 49ers Union of Minneapolis.  Following his retirement Darryl and Virginia spent 20 summers at their home in Alaska.  Darryl enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his family. 

Darryl is preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Fay.

Darryl is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Lamke; children, Rick (Dee Dee) Lamke, Darilyn (Ron) Yeager, Julie Landrus and Darryl “Butch” (DeAnn) Lamke, Jr.; grandchildren, Danielle (Robbie) West, Garrett (Marissa) Lamke, Amielyn (Daniel) Vaughan, Ron (Christine) Yeager, Virginia (Josh) Benson, Andy Yeager, Kourtney (Chuck) Bost, Stephanie (John) McKnight, Dan (Brea) Landrus, Tom (Montana) Landrus, Darlene (Clayton) Johanson and Devon (Tina) Lamke; 29 great grandchildren; 10 siblings; special cousin in Alaska, Joe Reich; several nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Darryl’s life will be held by his family at a later date.
