David Leslie Treadway, 82 of Aitkin and formerly of Arden Hills and Vadnais Heights passed away peacefully Wednesday August 12, 2020 at Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin. He was a 26 year survivor of Lung Cancer He was born July 18, 1938 in Crown Point, New York to William Henry and Laura Belle (Fadden) Treadway. He graduated from Ticonderoga High School in New York. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving from 1956-1960. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Minnesota. Dave worked for Freemont Industries and was self employed as a water treatment salesman up until he retired in 2017. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed gardening, loved to travel, and was a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Laura Treadway, his brother Robert, and grandson, David Morse. David is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Marcia, Sons: David Morse and Donald “Corky” Morse, Step-children: Scott (Carol) Zackery & Madison Douglas, Shelly (Lance) Kayla, Tanner, Lindsay and Claire Redlinger, Sister: Laura Barnaby, Nephews: Robert Barnaby and Christopher Barnaby, Nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cousins.
Funeral service will be 2PM – Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin. Reverend Randy Stauter will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
