Derald L. Landrus

Derald Laverne. Landrus, 83 of Aitkin, died Thursday, November 4, 2021 at his home in Aitkin.  He was born December 6, 1937 in Aitkin County to John Thomas and Lillian Marie Ameilia (Lehrke) Landrus.  He attended school in Esquagamah and Aitkin.  Derald was united in marriage to Florence Kingsley on June 1, 1957 in Aitkin.  He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Zontelli & Sons Construction, Arcon Construction, Vall Ready Mix, Jacobson Precast, and Aitkin County Highway Dept.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening, playing cards, and loved spending time with family and friends.  He was a member of Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Aitkin and the Up North Club.  He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Lillian Landrus, sisters: Donna Borgman and Connie Holm, and brothers: Duane and Donald Landrus.

Derald is survived by his wife Florence Landrus of Aitkin;

3 sons and daughters-in-law: Gregory (Kim) Landrus of Andover,

Rodney (Kari) Landrus of Andover,

Douglas (Virginia) Landrus of Palisade;

Daughter and son-in-law: Kathi (Allen) Sharp of Deerwood;

2 brothers and sisters-in-law: Arlen (Karen) Landrus of Palisade,

Ronnie (Charlene) Landrus of Palisade;

Grandchildren: Nicolle (Brandon) Hines, Monica (Jeremy) Schommer, Matthew (Ashley) Landrus, Ashley (Adam) Machen, and Simon, Savannah, Hailey, Dylan Landrus;

Great-grandchildren: James, Kayden, River, Remi, Carson, and Eli;

And many other special relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00am – Monday, November 8, 2021 at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Aitkin.  Pastor David Becker will officiate.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in Waukenabo Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Aitkin.  To leave a message of condolence please go to www.srtfuneral.com
