Donald Lee Dwyer, 72, of Aitkin, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021 in The Estates at Roseville with his family by his side. He was born May 5, 1949 in Huron, South Dakota to Robert and Marilyn (Blocker) Dwyer. Donald was a veteran of The United States Navy who served on the U.S.S. Tutuila during the Vietnam War. Donald owned and operated the Green Roof Store in Fairfield Township near Emily from 1977 until 2001. He was also a mail carrier for 20+ years. Donald enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing and ricing with his best friend, Jerry Fletcher. Donald was a great father and grandfather and was so proud of his kids and grandkids. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Kathy, Ronnie and Tim.
Donald is survived by his children, Joe (Jess) Dwyer of North St. Paul and Kim (Steve) Panushka of South St. Paul; grandchildren, Alec (Brittany), Ella (Nick Hann), Benjamin and Mildred; great grandchild, Brooks; Siblings Audrey Dwyer (Roy) of Owatonna, Monica (Terry) Madsen of Albertville, Vonnie (Kent) VanRay of Pingree, North Dakota and Bert (Sharon) Dwyer of Owatonna; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be Friday, December 10th at 11 AM in Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home, Aitkin with Pastor Barry Hite officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
