Donald Mapes Obituary

Donald Morris Mapes, 81 of Aitkin died Monday, November 2, 2020 at his home. He was born September 19, 1939 in Aitkin to Emery and Grace (Erickson) Mapes. He graduated from McGregor High School. Donald was united in marriage to Judith Ann (Johnson) November 21, 1970 at the Rossburg Church, Aitkin. He worked for Hazelwood Vending, then bought a vending route near Walker and started Don’s Vending Co. He also worked in Arkansas for the Glad Co. as a machinist. He was preceded in death by his son Ric Emery Mapes, 1 sister, 3 brothers, and his parents.

Don is survived by his wife Judith Ann Mapes

Children: Ron Mapes , Guy Mapes, Romelle Mapes-Walkup,

Curtis Mapes, Mitch Elling and Shelly Elling-Bunting;

16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
