Doris Lucille (Tyren) Slough

Doris L. (Tyren) Slough, age 72 of Palisade formerly of Minneapolis died Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin, Mn.

Doris was born August 20, 1946 in Brainerd, Minnesota the daughter of Ernest and Kathleen (Haney) Tyren. She grew up and attended school in Palisade and graduated from the Aitkin High School in 1964. She then moved to Davenport, Iowa where she worked in Clerical and accounting. She moved to the Twin Cities and continued doing accounting work. She married Donovan Slough in Crystal, Mn. They were part owners of the CSI Electrical Contracting Co. They sold the company in 1992 and moved back to Palisade where they had a hobby farm. She had worked for the Riverwood McGregor Clinic for five years. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Palisade, former member of the Palisade Lions, served on the Coop Store Board, she loved to have beautiful flower beds and lawn and enjoyed home decorating and jewelry shows with friend Bob Rossini.

She is survived by sisters: Lois (Durk) Tibbetts-Durkee of Silver Bay, Mn., Lorraine (Rich) Liljenquist of Aitkin; God Mother: Doris Doty of Palisade, Nieces and nephews: Valerie Nelson, Kay Hill, Mark Tibbetts, Greg Tibbetts and Rick Liljenquist and also good friend Randy Ecker of Kimball, Mn. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Don Slough in 2001.

A funeral service will be held Friday, June 7, 2019 at 11 AM from the Bethel Lutheran Church in Palisade with Rev. William Sass officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church Friday. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery near Palisade. Arrangements are with the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Aitkin, Mn.
