Eleanor Louise Amidon, 85, of Aitkin, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at her home. She was born October 13, 1939 in Edina to Thomson and Elsabeth (Findley) Amidon, Jr. Eleanor loved tending to her horses and caring for her numerous dogs throughout the years. She was also a plant enthusiast. Eleanor enjoyed spending time at the local nursing homes, visiting with her friends and bringing them “special” gifts. She was also involved in Riverwood Auxiliary. Church was a very important part of Eleanor’s life.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Thomson Smith Amidon III and Elsabeth “Betsy” King.
Eleanor is survived by 2 sons, Craig (Rhonda) Tibbetts and Bryan Tibbetts; grandchildren, Caitlin Tibbetts, Kayla (Stephen) Tibbetts-Mayor; other relatives and friends.
Services will be Thursday, December 19, at 11 AM in Northwoods Community Church, Aitkin with Pastor William Verbeke officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Private Interment will be in Bennettville Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Northwoods Community Church, Aitkin or the charity of your choice.
