Ellen Mildred (Lindgren) Burman

Ellen Mildred Burman, 88 of Glen died Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Aitkin Health Services in Aitkin.  She was born at home on the family farm May 16, 1931 to Emil and Hilda (Hedback) Wilson Lindgren.  Ellen grew up on the family farm helping with chores and working at a local church camp on Long Lake with her mother.  She attended country school and Aitkin High School.  She did not graduate as Ellen was united in marriage to Clarence Burman November 19, 1949 in Aitkin.  They lived on the family farm raising three sons.  Ellen went to work for the Aitkin Public School District in 1963 as a cook at Clear Lake School.  She worked her way up to head cook for the school district at Rippleside Elementary School before she retired in 1993.  Ellen was the lead cook for the first Aitkin All Class Reunion, she always said it was a long busy week.  Ellen has been a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church of Malmo since 1953.  She taught Sunday School and held offices in the church women’s group.  In her later years she enjoyed the quilters group at the church.  Ellen and Clarence were active in the Pilots of Clear Lake 4-H with their sons.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence on September 3, 2013, sister Ruth Waffensmith, brothers: Henry Wilson, Bert Wilson,

Leonard Wilson, Axel Wilson, and Emil Lindgren, and her parents.

Ellen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Warren (Margie) Burman, Dwight (Linda) Burman, and Kevin (Kris) Burman;

Grandchildren: Jamie Ruud, Justin Burman, Jarred Burman, Mike (Mindy) Burman, Doug Burman, Greg (Ashley) Burman Brent Burman, and Lindsay (Kyle) Asmus;

Great-Grandchildren: Aidan, Sophia, Elijah, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Mason, and Nora;

Many other special relatives and friends.
