Gary Dean Johnson

Gary D Johnson passed away on April 15th surrounded by family at Riverwood Healthcare Center at the age of 84.  Gary was born in Aitkin to Dean and Elnora (Berggren) Johnson.  He was the eldest of 3.  He attended school at the Hickory School House and in later years made his home down the road from it.  He worked and retired from MNDot for 30+ years, was a member of MN Army National Guard for many years and was a member of the Riverboat Reelers Square Dance Club.  He tolerated fishing (our whole childhood was a lie!), loved cutting wood, camping, mowing the lawn and driving the tractor but he enjoyed his family and grandkids the most.  He was united in marriage to Barb at the Palisade Methodist Church and were married for 58 years. 

Gary is survived by his wife Barb; children, Laura (Rod) Winch, Jim Johnson, Tammy (Shawn) Speed and Gary (Beth) Johnson; grandkids,  Micheal, Tyler, Alex, Jenna, Justine, Kari, Allison, Ben, Sawyer and Chase and their spouses and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
