Gary Richard Dean Kanne, age 69, suddenly passed away July 12, 2021 due to a heart condition.

 

Gary was born April 14, 1952 in Brainerd, MN to Dr. Earl and Lois Kanne. After highschool he married the love of his life Terri Byer while attending Augsburg College before graduating with a degree in Accounting. Gary was dedicated to his clients and a member of the MN Society of CPA’s. He also provided professional services to Woodbury Lutheran Church and SoWashCo Cares, two organizations for which he was passionate.

 

Gary was raised a Lutheran and had a deep faith in Christ. He was like the giving tree, always driven to do things for others. He was well loved and will be remembered for his kindness and unique laugh. Gary loved spending time at the family cabin on Mink Lake and was an avid golfer.

 

Gary was preceded in death by his father Dr. Earl Kanne, brother Robert Kanne, beloved Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Terri Byer Kanne, children Jenna Kanne Severson, Marni Kanne (Jared Yeater), Kati Kanne (Scot Hanson), Jeremy Kanne (Ashle Kanne), grandchildren Megan and Anna Severson, Catherine, Mara and Peter Yeater, mother Lois Beckman Kanne, sister Karen Kanne Stanley (Jay Stanely), sister-in-law Deb Nelson Kanne, Uncle Bob Beckman, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm Thurs. July 22, 2021 at Woodbury Lutheran Church, 7380 Afton Rd., Woodbury, MN with visitation from 11am to 1pm. Burial in Bigfork, MN at later date.

Suggested memorials: Woodbury Lutheran Church Missions, Feed My Starving Children, World Vision or American Heart Association.
