Gary W. Seiger Sr., 80, of Aitkin, passed away on Friday, February 13th, 2026.
He was born on September 21st, 1945 in St. Paul to Harvey and Grace (Anderson) Seiger. Gary graduated from Humboldt in June 1963. While in high school, he met his loving wife, Cheryl Garbrecht. They were united in marriage on November 25, 1967 in St. Paul. They were married for 58 years. He was drafted into the Navy in 1965 and served in the Vietnam war until 1967. After the war, Gary went to school to become an electrician, which he did for over 30 years.
Gary loved spending time up north at Farm Island Lake, whether it was fishing, going on pontoon rides, hanging up at the “barn”. His biggest love was being with his family and especially his grandchildren. His smile and quick wit will be greatly missed.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Cheryl; children, Gary Jr, Amy (Todd) Carlson, Chad (Anna) Seiger; 4 grandchildren, Sydney, Brett, Blake and Madeline; brother, Geoff (Colleen) Seiger; sister-in-law, Cindy Seiger; brother-in-law, Bruce Garbrecht and many nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded in death by parents Grace and Harvey; in-laws, Gus and Minnie Garbrecht; brother, Greg Seiger, sisters-in-law, Diane L. and Diane M. Garbrecht and brother-in-law, Don Garbrecht.
