Jacqueline Dee (Sholberg) Johnson
of Aitkin, Minnesota, entered into Heaven on August 18, 2025, at her home at the age of 88. Surrounded in her own bedroom by eight beloved family members spanning three generations—her brother, children, and grandchildren—Jackie passed peacefully, without fear or pain.
Jacqueline, “Jackie,” was born on June 10, 1937, in Everett, Washington, to Alvin and Thelma Sholberg. She grew up there until 1963, when she moved to Minnesota to marry Maurice Anderson. Together they had three children: Toni, Karl, and Josh. Jackie graduated from Highline High School in 1955, then earned her teaching degree from Central Washington State University, graduating in May 1960.
Before beginning her teaching career, Jackie worked as a flight attendant with Northwest Airlines (now Delta) until 1963. She then spent more than 30 years teaching, the majority of those years in the North Branch school system, retiring in May 1997.
In 1987 Jackie and Maurice divorced. She later married Wilton (“Bill”) Johnson in 1993. They shared 24 years together until his passing in December 2017. Jackie made her home in North Branch from 1975 to 2016, and in January 2017 she moved to Aitkin.
Jackie gave generously of her time and talents, volunteering with many organizations. She delivered Meals on Wheels, brought library books to shut-ins, taught a young man to read, and faithfully cared for neighbors in need. She especially loved reading, studying the Bible, gardening, traveling, and camping. Her chief earthly passion was her family, especially her grandkids. She was always involved, engaged, loving, and praying for them. And more than anything, Jackie loved the Lord with all her heart.
She was a long-time member of South Isanti Baptist Church, where she built many lasting friendships. After moving to Aitkin, she became part of Glory Baptist Church, where she was also blessed with dear friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, her sister Shirley, her son Josh, and her stepson Ken Johnson. She is lovingly remembered by her twin sister, Karen Rolcik, and her brother, Jon (Barb) Sholberg. She leaves behind her daughter, Toni Lane, and her son, Karl Anderson (fiancée Susi), as well as eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who were her joy and delight. She is also remembered with love by her stepchildren, Kathy (Rowland) Brasch and Kerry (Debbie) Johnson, along with their families.
Funeral Service will be 11AM – Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Glory Baptist Church, Aitkin, MN. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Glory Cemetery. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin. www.srtfuneral.com
