John Henry Clasen, Sr.

 John Henry Clasen, Sr. 85 of McGregor died Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Hennepin Health Care Center in Minneapolis.  He was born March 25, 1941 in Brainerd the son of Winfried Carl and Miriam Alice (Wygaard) Clasen.  He graduated from Mounds View High School in 1959.  John was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran and was honorably discharged in 1961.  He worked as an inspector for Honeywell and owned several tanning salons in the Twin Cities area.  After retirement, John moved to the McGregor area on Lake Minnewawa and was known as Sheshebe Point local handy-man who would give a helping hand to anyone that needed it.  He had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Corvettes, his Model A Truck and working with his Bobcat-backhoe.  He always took the time to “flirt innocently” with the pretty ladies he would meet while out during his day.  John especially loved and was very proud of his children, grandchildren and his extended family.  He was preceded in death by his brother Ron Clasen and parents Winfried and Miriam Clasen.  He is survived by 6 children: Donna Jean Guertin (Mike Leoni), John “Jack” Henry Clasen, Jr. (Nicole), Mark Owen Clasen (Lisa), Christopher Patrick Clasen, Jeremy Levi Clasen, Jess Cody Clasen; 13 grandchildren: Ryan Guertin, Joshua Guertin, Nicholas Guertin, Miriah Clasen, Alexandra Clasen, Jacqueline Clasen, Lucas Clasen, Lindsey Clasen, Isabelle Janasz, Grace Allard, Alivia Melling, Britany Clasen, Emry Clasen; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way; his sisters: Kay Ellen Gager and his two sisters that he was born as a triplet with: Joyce Kloncz and Janet Klein; besides many other special relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00am – Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at McGregor Funeral Home in McGregor.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial with full military honors will be at Round Lake Cemetery, Shamrock Township.  Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
