Joseph Hall Obituary

Joseph Henry Hall, age 100, of Aitkin, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 7, 2024. He was the first born to Clarence and Katherine (Lindemeier) Hall on December 9, 1923, in Idaville, Indiana. Joseph graduated from Aitkin High School in 1941 and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in January of 1943. He faithfully served his country during WW II in the Asiatic- Pacific Theater to the end of June, 1945. Service included battles in the Marshall Is., Guam, Marianas Is. and Okinawa Ryukyu Is. He was honorably discharged in November, 1945. Joseph and Edna Marie Belter were united in marriage on February 20, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd. He owned and operated Gorham-Hall Insurance Agency also in Brainerd. Joseph was a man of faith reflected by his love for God, his family and his country. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Katherine, sons-in-law: Gary Schroeder and Jim Rutgerson and his great- granddaughter, Ari May Peske.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Edna, of 75 years; Children: Jeffrey Hall, Kathleen Schroeder, Louise Rutgerson and Marjorie (Paul) Wiersma; 4 grandchildren; 8 great- grandchildren; siblings: Vivian Bartsch and Douglas Hall.

A service of glorifying God and the certainty of His saving work through Jesus Christ will be at 11:00am – Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Crosby. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Brainerd. Military honors will be accorded by the Marine Corps League – Heartland Detachment 473. Memorials are preferred to: Lutheran Heritage Foundation.
