Joshua Kenneth Thompson, 29 of Hill City, died Thursday, April 10, 2025. He was born February 27, 1996 in Saint Paul the son of Kenneth Lee Thompson and Paula Marie (Yarusso) Thompson. He graduated from Hill City High School in 2014. After graduating high school he moved to Aitkin to live on a farm with the cows and a peaceful country life. He enjoyed making people smile, surprising you with cookies or a pecan pie when you get home from work. He loved trying new recipes. He enjoyed watching Star Trek, Anime, A.I. art. Joshua was an amazing son, brother, uncle and vacation buddy. He loved being a companion to everyone and being present with his family, making memories. He was preceded in death by his brother John and his grandparents. Joshua is survived by his mother Paula Thompson of Hill City; father Kenneth (Audrey) Thompson of Minneapolis; 3 siblings: Jonah of Hill City, Jordan of Crosby, Joy (Tyler) Flowers of San Diego, CA. and many other special relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Visitation will begin at 10am – Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin. At 11am we will be going in procession to Macville Cemetery for the graveside service. Pastor Dallas Smith will be the officiant. A celebration of Joshua’s life and luncheon will follow the graveside service at The American Legion Club Lee Post 86 in Aitkin.
