Joy Anna Jacobson, 89, of Aitkin, formerly of Malmo, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 in Aicota Healthcare Center, Aitkin. She was born April 14, 1930 in Walhalla, North Dakota to Charles and Alice (Otto) Carpenter. Joy was united in marriage to Newman L. Jacobson on February 14, 1953 in Anoka. Joy was a member of Malmo Free Church for many years and later, the Deerwood Baptist Church. Joy’s passion was Paper Cutting Scherenschnitte. She also enjoyed wild ricing and spending time with family and friends.
Joy is preceded in death by her husband, Newman; son, Lane Jacobson; her parents and 4 siblings.
Joy is survived by 3 siblings, Sally Eden, Alvina Hesner and Tom Carpenter; sister in law: Myrtle Graham and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be Tuesday, September 10 at 1 PM in Deerwood Baptist Church. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service in the church.
