Joyce Elizabeth Knaack, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 20, 1940, in Aitkin, Minnesota, to Alice and Reinhardt Nistler. Joyce was the cherished wife of John Knaack for 68 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Joyce was a devoted and loving mother to Jeanie Knaack (Alan Peterson), Lori (David) Groves, Sandy (Gary) Edwards, Debbie Hagen (Wayne Bobenmoyer), John Knaack, and Andrea Johnson (Greg Weaver). She was a proud grandmother to 18 grandchildren and a deeply adored great-grandmother to 38 great-grandchildren — each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, great-grandson Sterling Steiner and her brother Terry.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, 5 sisters, many other special relatives and friends, all of whom carry her love in their hearts.
Joyce found her greatest joy in being surrounded by family. Whether she was preparing a home-cooked meal, sharing a quick-witted remark, or holding one of her grandchildren close, she radiated warmth, humor, and unconditional love to everyone around her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, selflessness, and unwavering faith — a life well-lived and deeply cherished.
