Kathryn ”Kitty” Lathrop, 76 of Aitkin, passed away January 31, 2023 at Golden Horizons Assisted Living in Aitkin. She was born on May 28th, 1946, to Kathryn Jane and John Kenneth Anderson in Two Harbors. She was a 1964 graduate of Moose Lake High School. After High School Kitty attended Itasca Community College where she studied her generals. Kathryn was married at the age of 20. After her first year of marriage, she gave birth to her first daughter Pamelynn, and soon followed her sister Shannon who she had at the age of 23. She worked most of her life as a culinary artist, where she prided herself on her creative dishes. Kitty enjoyed gardening, dancing, old country music, murder mysteries, snowmobiling, the color red, going to the casino, and making people smile. She was a proud member of Hill City Baptist Church which she was one of the founders of the church 40 years ago. She was most proud of her daughters and grandchildren. Kitty touched all that encountered her at Golden Horizons, which she became family to all. Kitty is survived by 2 daughters: Pamelynn and Shannon; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 2 sisters: Joni and Betty; her best friend Bonnie Carlson, and her family at Golden Horizons.
