Kenneth J. Mitchell, 78 of Tamarack passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026 at Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin surrounded by his wife and family. He was born February 23, 1948 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin the son of Phillip and Doris (Zetah) Mitchell. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran Serving during the Vietnam War. He was a military police officer stationed in Okinawa, Japan and then in Duluth, MN. Kenneth was united in marriage to Cindy Lou Anderson on August 7, 1981 in McGregor. He worked repairing saw blades, he was an award winning columnist for Voyageur Press and was Pastor at the Evangelical Free Church in Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Greg Mitchell. Kenneth is survived by his wife Cindy; daughters and sons-in-law: Patricia (Tom) Horsman, Jamie (Kurt) Ouwenga, Stefanie (James) Richards; sons and daughters-in-law: Nathan (Terry) Mitchell, Jason (Katie) Irvin, Justin (Nellie) Mitchell; 24 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and many other special relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 11am – Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Evangelical Free Church in Wright. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
