Larry A. Hamren entered fully into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday morning, October 20, 2019. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Larry was born in Cloquet, MN on April 14, 1943, to Carl and Jennie Hamren. He grew up in Wright, MN, attending schools in Wright and Cromwell, graduating in 1961.
Larry was employed at the Wood Conversion Company (later Conwed Corporation) for 24 years until its sale to U.S.G. He was then a caregiver first to his parents, then aunt, and finally his godmother, Helen Benson.
He served with the U.S. Army in 1965 and 1966 receiving training in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and Fort Sam Houston, TX. He then served for 15 months in South Korea under the 8th Army, 567th Med. Co. AMB. Upon his discharge from the Army he returned to work at the Wood Conversion Co., Cloquet, MN.
He was a lifelong member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Wright, MN, having served on the church council, and was head usher for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Terry in 1965, Leonard in 1968, and Kenneth in 1971; sister-in-law Lorraine Hamren, sister-in-law Maureen Hamren, great nephew Jason Goodnight.
He is survived by brother Glen Hamren; nephews Thomas (Kim) Hamren and David (Nancy) Hamren; nieces Diane (Dallas) Warner, Kathryn Moss, Laura (Shane) Campbell, Gale (Richard) Thuermer, and Linda (Tim) Rose; 17 great nieces and nephews, and 8 great-great nieces and nephews.
Larry’s faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ carried him through trials and sorrow, gave him strength, and brought him great joy as he was a faithful servant. His life truly was an example of living faith to all who knew him.
Funeral Service will be 2:00P.M. – Sunday November 17, 2019 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wright. Pastor Debra Hanson-Carlson will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in the Wright Public Cemetery.
