Linda Marie (LaMotte) Gregoire

Linda Marie Gregoire, 78, of Glen, passed away Friday, January 24, 2020 at her home.  Linda was born November 12, 1941 in White Bear Lake to Russell and Rachel (Wilcox) LaMotte.  Linda attended St. Mary’s Catholic School to become a Registered Nurse.  Linda was united in marriage to Henry Joseph Gregoire on April 21, 1961 in Hugo.  She and Henry lived in Stacy for 14 years.  In 1978, Linda and Henry bought a resort on Mille Lacs Lake (H.J.’s Lakeside Resort) which they operated with their family for 25 years.  A 1996 article in The Smithsonian mentions H.J.’s Lakeside Resort.  Linda and Henry closed H.J.’s Lakeside Resort in 2002 and sold the land, leaving behind a lifetime of friends that had become more than customers.  Linda and Henry then bought a farm in Glen where they enjoyed working everyday with their family. Linda was a member of Paralyzed Veterans of America for 13 years and a life member of The Ladies Auxiliary to The Veterans of Foreign War. Linda enjoyed gardening, hunting, her ponies and was a great story-teller.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  Linda was a kind and loving woman who would do anything for anyone.  She had a heart of gold for everyone and a smile that would never end.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.   

Linda is preceded by her loving husband, Henry; her parents; daughter, Linda Marie Gregoire; granddaughter, Angel Marie Revering; grandson, Dylan Gregoire; sister, Mary Lofgren.

Linda is survived by her children, Henry Jr., Timothy, Dan, James, Terry, Mary Tasa and Tracy Revering; grandchildren, Mike, Jeremy, Gabby, Troy, Jonah, Rachel, Brian, Dan Jr., Geoff, Eric, Jacki, Steph, Gracie, Jacob, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Josie, Cody, Austin, Kim and Cally; several great grandchildren; sisters, Tony McCoy, Lois (Rick) Branjord and Lori Wick; brothers-in-law, Merle Lofgren; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 31 at 11 AM in St. James Catholic Church, Aitkin.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Lakeside Township.  To sign the guestbook online, go to:  www.srtfuneral.com.  Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home, Aitkin.
