Linda Mae (Carlson) Portner

Linda Portner, 84 of St. Michael formerly of Pine River died Saturday, May 17, 2025 at her home in St. Michael.  She was born December 10, 1940 in Pine River the daughter of Cecil and Judith (Ness) Carlson.  She grew up in Pine River and graduated from Pine River High School in 1958.  She earned her R.N. Degree and worked as a surgical nurse in Minnesota and Nevada until retirement.  She was preceded in death by husbands: Claude Whitted and Donald Portner, sister Marilyn Severson and her parents Cecil and Judith Carlson. 

Linda is survived by daughters: Kari (Tom) Zyla, Katherine Whitted;

Sons: Eric Whitted and Scott Whitted (Malissa Tandeski);

Grandson: Dylan (Rose) Whitted;

Great-Grandchildren: Travis and Dayton Wills,

Kaleb and Braylee Whitted;

Sisters: Barbara Brezinsky, Sandy Schaefer and Pamela (Jim) Middlestadt; Brother: Cecil (Leanne) Carlson;

Many nieces, nephews, other special relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1pm – Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Pine River.  To leave a message of condolence go to www.srtfuneral.com
