Linda Mary Wenzel, 70, of Aitkin, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 in Riverwood Healthcare Center, Aitkin. She was born September 26, 1949 in Minneapolis to Virgil and Jean (Cook) Nentl. Linda graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Teaching. She taught in both Palisade and Aitkin for over 30 years. Linda had a love and passion for teaching children even after her retirement. Linda was united in marriage to Kenneth Wayne Wenzel in July of 1997. Linda loved to read and was a member of the Rippleside Readers Book Club. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, fishing, traveling and especially spending time up north with family and friends. Linda also loved animals, especially her dogs. Linda will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wenzel and her father, Virgil Nentl.
Linda is survived by her parents, Robert and Jean Mansk of Columbia Heights; son, Gabe (Anne) Carlstrom of Laporte; step-children, Amanda (Peter) Lowe of Aitkin, Jonathon (Heather) Wenzel of St. Cloud and Nickolas (Lynn) Wenzel of Aitkin; grandchildren, Allyson Gregory and Logan Wenzel, Peyton and Micah Carlstrom, Jordan, Jillian and Jackson MacDonald and Natalie and Brooklyn Wenzel; siblings, Dan (Ann) Mansk of Wausau, Wisconsin, Dave (Julie) Mansk of Cape Canaveral, Florida, Mark (Jeanne) Mansk of Chisago, Kathy (Scott) Billehus of Anoka and Sonny (Brian) Purdy of White Bear Lake; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
