Lorraine Farah Obituary

Lorraine Farah, 88 of McGregor passed away Friday, July 26, 2024 at Riverwood Health Care Center in Aitkin.  She was born May 3, 1936 in Aazhoomog (Lake Lena) Ogema Township, Pine County to Archie and Madeline (Skinaway) Moose. Lorraine, or Qway as her family and friends called her, enjoyed traditional gatherings and spending time with family where she would share stories and laughs.  Her quick wit and playful behavior made her a great auntie and friend.  She spent her time going to the casino, reading romance novels, and watching Law and Order or Lifetime movies.  She also loved animals (cats, dogs, birds, chinchillas - you name it) and treated them like family.  When visiting her, you might often find her reading Danielle Steele or listening to country music with a strong coffee and some butterscotch candies.  Her first language was Ojibwe and it gave her great pride in passing this along later in life as a language instructor.  She was a member of the Mide Lodge and an active participant in Big Drum ceremonies.  She was proud of her culture and was happy knowing it continues to prosper.
