Marjorie Claire Pratt

Marjorie “Marge” Claire Pratt, age 83 of Aitkin died Thursday, October 28, 2021 at her home in Aitkin surrounded by her loving family.

Marge was born October 2, 1938 at Elgin, Illinois the daughter of Donald and Lillian (Bjork) VanWambeke. She grew up and attended schools in Elgin graduating in 1956. She raised her family in Elgin and Aitkin. She moved to Aitkin in 1969. She married Raymond Pratt on August 10, 1991 in Aitkin. She worked for Florence Tarr in the Aitkin County Administrators office as a deputy Court Administrator for 23 years. She was also a member of the Fleming United Methodist Church for over 50 years and had played piano for the church for 50 years. She also played piano at Aicota Nursing Home along with Julie Hanson for many years. She also enjoyed motorcycles and reading.

Marge is survived by her husband Raymond Pratt; Children: Susan Lynn (Dennis) Roadhouse of Princeton, Ill., Scott William (Joanne) Ballard of Elgin, Ill., Michael Larkin Ballard  of Florida, Brian David Johnston of Aitkin, Mn., step children: Brenda Johnston of Aitkin, Mn., Jeannette Feroe of Boyerstown, Penn., 21 grand and great grandchildren; brother: Jon VanWambeke of Elgin, Ill. And Sister: Marilyn (Gary) Carlson of Aitkin, Mn. and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son David Delvin Johnston.
