Marlys C. (Johnson) Brekke

Marlys C. Brekke, 87, of Duluth, died Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Heritage Haven in Duluth.  She was born July 9, 1932.

Marlys (Johnson) was united in marriage to Carl D. Brekke in December of 1959 at East Lake.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, playing Scrabble, Cribbage, and other games. She had a great sense of humor and was a fine artist and crafter. She was a good, loving, engaging, “hands on” grandmother.  Her grandchildren and all her family and friends are very special to her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents;

Husband: Carl Brekke on January 8, 2005;

Brother: Levi;

2 sons: Terry Brekke, Sr. on April 1, 1988,

and Randall Brekke, Sr. on Jaunary11, 2008.

She is survived by her 2 grandsons: Randy (Bri) Brekke, Jr. of West St. Paul,

And T.J. Brekke, Jr. of Esko-Cloquet;

4 great-grandchildren: Carly, Sophie, Eli, and Ahna;

Special friends: Judy Brackett and Marilyn Burggraff both of Duluth.

Marlys’ family and friends would like to thank the staff at Heritage Haven for the care Marlys received.

Funeral service will be 1:00P.M. – Friday, November 22, 2019 at Round Lake Presbyterian Church, McGregor.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be in the Round Lake  Cemetery, Shamrock Township, Aitkin County, MN.  Arrangements are with McGregor Funeral Home & Cremation Services of McGregor.  www.srtfuneral.com
