Martin Joseph Opatrny

Martin Joseph Opatrny, 68, of Garrison, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 in Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth.  He was born July 29, 1956 in Minneapolis to James and Doreen (Brummer) Opatrny.  Martin was a veteran of The United States Marine Corps.   Martin was united in marriage to Kay Menge on June 22, 2024 in Garrison.  He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Martin is preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers.

Martin is survived by his loving wife, Kay;  children, Steve (Bryann), Teresa and Tommy; step children, Ashley (Jacob), Elli (Rick) and Amber; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Marvin (Christine), Melvin and Mervin (Lynn); other relatives and friends.
