Mary Margaret Gulden
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Gulden from New Ulm. MN. She departed this life on October 8, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love for nature and animals that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Born on October 29, 1941, Mary Gulden was a true child of nature. Her connection with the outdoors began at an early age, as she developed a friendship with a crow as a child. Raised in Springfield, Mary Gulden developed a deep appreciation for the local flora and fauna, which became a lifelong passion as she tended beautiful flower gardens throughout the New Ulm Community.
Mary was often found immersed in the beauty of the great outdoors. She enjoyed riding horses, walking dogs, feeding birds, and soaking in the bounties of nature. Mary instilled a sense of wonder in her daughters, teaching us all to appreciate the natural world that surrounds us.
Mary Gulden's nurturing spirit extended to many pets: including dogs, cats, horses, birds, and any other animal or insect that passed her way.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Jody (Randy) Slinger and Kathy (Chris) Hakes-Fastner of Aitkin. Grandchildren, Matthew (Bridgette) Slinger of Fairbault , Tim Slinger of Aitkin, Bryan Slinger of Brainerd, Cora Fastner of Detroit Lakes, and Kady Fastner of Durango CO. In addition, Mary has 2 beautiful great granddaughters, Brynn & Marren Slinger.
Mary leaves behind a world that is forever enriched by her love for nature. Her legacy will continue to inspire us to be better stewards of the Earth, to cherish the wonders of our planet, and to advocate for its protection.
"Like a leaf falling from a tree, Mary has returned to the Earth, but her love for nature will forever bloom in our hearts."
The family wishes to express our sincere appreciation to Gail & Gary and her friends at Sunset Apartments in New Ulm for creating a loving community. Thank you to the caring staff at Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin, and Moments Hospice for their devotion, care and support.
